The practice
Meridian was founded in 2011 by Elena Cho, after a decade inside two of Chicago's largest brokerages, watching good homes get rushed to market and good buyers get sold whatever was easiest to close.
We built something smaller instead. Eight agents, never more by design, each carrying a handful of clients at a time instead of a pipeline. Every listing gets one point of contact from the first walkthrough to closing day: the same person who found the property, negotiated the offer, and knows why the seller actually wants to move.
That discipline shows up in the details most firms skip. Permit history pulled before an offer goes in. Structural notes from an inspector we trust, not the seller's. School boundaries, flood maps, the direction a street actually drains in April. It is slower work. It is also, we think, the only honest way to do this.
We don't sell houses. We place people in the right rooms for the next chapter of their lives. Elena Cho, FounderMeet the team →

How we help
We track off-market opportunities months before they're listed publicly, and negotiate on data instead of emotion. Every offer is backed by an independent inspection and comparable pricing prepared in advance.
Listings are prepared with a two-week staging period, editorial photography, and a pre-qualified buyer list before the property goes public. Most homes we represent sell within three weeks of their first showing.
For owners and relocating executives, we manage leasing end to end: pricing, tenant screening, and lease negotiation. It's the same discretion we bring to a multimillion dollar sale, applied at any price point.
In their words
“They told us not to buy the first house we loved. Two months later they were right, and the one they found instead is the one we're raising our kids in.”
Priya & Daniel R., Lincoln Park
“We had three offers inside ten days, all above ask, from buyers our agent had already qualified before the listing went live.”
Marcus T., West Loop
“Four purchases in six years, and I've spoken to the same person every time. That kind of continuity is rare once you're above eight figures.”
Sara K., Gold Coast
